Amazon Simple Queue Service
Developer Guide

For information about Amazon SQS regions and endpoints, see Regions and Endpoints in the Amazon Web Services General Reference.

Every Amazon SQS endpoint is entirely independent. For example, two queues named MyQueue, one in and one in, would be completely independent and would not share any data. Queue names and queue URLs are case-sensitive.

The following are general examples of query requests that create queues in different regions. The structure of AUTHPARAMS depends on how you sign your API request.

Example of Creating a Queue in EU (Ireland)

Copy ?Action=CreateQueue &DefaultVisibilityTimeout=40 &QueueName=MyQueue &Version=2012-11-05 &AUTHPARAMS
