Synopsis

Calls the Amazon CloudWatch DescribeAlarmHistory API operation.

Description

Retrieves the history for the specified alarm. You can filter the results by date range or item type. If an alarm name is not specified, the histories for either all metric alarms or all composite alarms are returned. CloudWatch retains the history of an alarm even if you delete the alarm. To use this operation and return information about a composite alarm, you must be signed on with the cloudwatch:DescribeAlarmHistory permission that is scoped to *. You can't return information about composite alarms if your cloudwatch:DescribeAlarmHistory permission has a narrower scope.

This cmdlet automatically pages all available results to the pipeline - parameters related to iteration are only needed if you want to manually control the paginated output. To disable autopagination, use -NoAutoIteration.

This property is deprecated. Setting this property results in non-UTC DateTimes not being marshalled correctly. Use EndDateUtc instead. Setting either EndDate or EndDateUtc results in both EndDate and EndDateUtc being assigned, the latest assignment to either one of the two property is reflected in the value of both. EndDate is provided for backwards compatibility only and assigning a non-Utc DateTime to it results in the wrong timestamp being passed to the service.The ending date to retrieve alarm history.This parameter is deprecated.

The maximum number of alarm history records to retrieve.
Note: In AWSPowerShell and AWSPowerShell.NetCore this parameter is used to limit the total number of items returned by the cmdlet.
In AWS.Tools this parameter is simply passed to the service to specify how many items should be returned by each service call.
Pipe the output of this cmdlet into Select-Object -First to terminate retrieving data pages early and control the number of items returned.

The token returned by a previous call to indicate that there is more data available.
Note: This parameter is only used if you are manually controlling output pagination of the service API call.
In order to manually control output pagination, use '-NextToken $null' for the first call and '-NextToken $AWSHistory.LastServiceResponse.NextToken' for subsequent calls.

By default the cmdlet will auto-iterate and retrieve all results to the pipeline by performing multiple service calls. If set, the cmdlet will retrieve only the next 'page' of results using the value of NextToken as the start point.

Use the -Select parameter to control the cmdlet output. The default value is 'AlarmHistoryItems'. Specifying -Select '*' will result in the cmdlet returning the whole service response (Amazon.CloudWatch.Model.DescribeAlarmHistoryResponse). Specifying the name of a property of type Amazon.CloudWatch.Model.DescribeAlarmHistoryResponse will result in that property being returned. Specifying -Select '^ParameterName' will result in the cmdlet returning the selected cmdlet parameter value.

Outputs

This cmdlet returns a collection of Amazon.CloudWatch.Model.AlarmHistoryItem objects. The service call response (type Amazon.CloudWatch.Model.DescribeAlarmHistoryResponse) can also be referenced from properties attached to the cmdlet entry in the $AWSHistory stack.
