List the specified metrics. You can use the returned metrics with GetMetricStatistics to obtain statistical data.

Up to 500 results are returned for any one call. To retrieve additional results, use the returned token with subsequent calls.

After you create a metric, allow up to fifteen minutes before the metric appears. Statistics about the metric, however, are available sooner using GetMetricStatistics.

Note:

This is an asynchronous operation using the standard naming convention for .NET 4.5 or higher. For .NET 3.5 the operation is implemented as a pair of methods using the standard naming convention of BeginListMetrics and EndListMetrics.

Parameters
cancellationToken
Type: System.Threading.CancellationToken

A cancellation token that can be used by other objects or threads to receive notice of cancellation.

Return Value
The response from the ListMetrics service method, as returned by CloudWatch.

Exceptions

ExceptionCondition
InternalServiceException Request processing has failed due to some unknown error, exception, or failure.
InvalidParameterValueException The value of an input parameter is bad or out-of-range.
