Retrieves information about the type of client authentication for the specified directory, if the type is specified. If no type is specified, information about all client authentication types that are supported for the specified directory is retrieved. Currently, only SmartCard is supported.

Note:

This is an asynchronous operation using the standard naming convention for .NET 4.5 or higher. For .NET 3.5 the operation is implemented as a pair of methods using the standard naming convention of BeginDescribeClientAuthenticationSettings and EndDescribeClientAuthenticationSettings.

Parameters

request
Type: Amazon.DirectoryService.Model.DescribeClientAuthenticationSettingsRequest

Container for the necessary parameters to execute the DescribeClientAuthenticationSettings service method.

cancellationToken
Type: System.Threading.CancellationToken

A cancellation token that can be used by other objects or threads to receive notice of cancellation.

Return Value


The response from the DescribeClientAuthenticationSettings service method, as returned by DirectoryService.

Exceptions

ExceptionCondition
AccessDeniedException You do not have sufficient access to perform this action.
ClientException A client exception has occurred.
DirectoryDoesNotExistException The specified directory does not exist in the system.
InvalidParameterException One or more parameters are not valid.
ServiceException An exception has occurred in Directory Service.
UnsupportedOperationException The operation is not supported.
