Attaches the specified policy to the specified principal (certificate or other credential).

Note:

This is an asynchronous operation using the standard naming convention for .NET 4.5 or higher. For .NET 3.5 the operation is implemented as a pair of methods using the standard naming convention of BeginAttachPrincipalPolicy and EndAttachPrincipalPolicy.

Parameters
policyName
Type: System.String

The policy name.

principal
Type: System.String

The principal, which can be a certificate ARN (as returned from the CreateCertificate operation) or an Amazon Cognito ID.

cancellationToken
Type: System.Threading.CancellationToken

A cancellation token that can be used by other objects or threads to receive notice of cancellation.

Return Value
The response from the AttachPrincipalPolicy service method, as returned by IoT.

Exceptions

ExceptionCondition
InternalFailureException An unexpected error has occurred.
InvalidRequestException The request is not valid.
LimitExceededException The number of attached entities exceeds the limit.
ResourceNotFoundException The specified resource does not exist.
ServiceUnavailableException The service is temporarily unavailable.
ThrottlingException The rate exceeds the limit.
UnauthorizedException You are not authorized to perform this operation.
