Deletes the specified thing.

Note:

This is an asynchronous operation using the standard naming convention for .NET 4.5 or higher. For .NET 3.5 the operation is implemented as a pair of methods using the standard naming convention of BeginDeleteThing and EndDeleteThing.

Parameters
thingName
Type: System.String

The name of the thing to delete.

cancellationToken
Type: System.Threading.CancellationToken

A cancellation token that can be used by other objects or threads to receive notice of cancellation.

Return Value
The response from the DeleteThing service method, as returned by IoT.

Exceptions

ExceptionCondition
InternalFailureException An unexpected error has occurred.
InvalidRequestException The request is not valid.
ResourceNotFoundException The specified resource does not exist.
ServiceUnavailableException The service is temporarily unavailable.
ThrottlingException The rate exceeds the limit.
UnauthorizedException You are not authorized to perform this operation.
VersionConflictException An exception thrown when the version of a thing passed to a command is different than the version specified with the --version parameter.
