# Make a payment in AWS Settings

We're currently releasing our new experience to a limited number of customers. You might not be able to access this experience yet.

You can pay your AWS bill in AWS Settings. AWS charges your default payment method automatically at the beginning of each month. If that charge doesn't process successfully, you can use the console to update your payment method and make a payment.

Before making a payment, make sure that the payment method that you want to be automatically charged in the future is set as your default payment method. If you're using a credit card, confirm that your credit card isn't expired.

**To make a payment**

1. Open AWS Settings at [https://settings.aws.com](https://settings.aws.com).

1. In the main navigation pane, choose **Billing**.

1. Next to **Balance**, choose **View billing history**. You'll be redirected to the billing history.

1. Under **Action**, you'll see **Pay invoice** for any outstanding invoice. If there are no invoices listed, you don't need to do anything.

1. Choose **Pay invoice**.

1. Confirm your choice and choose **Pay**.
