Parameters:
  • scope (Construct) – Scope in which this resource is defined.

  • id (str) – Construct identifier for this resource (unique in its scope).

  • name (Optional[str]) – The name of the Kinesis stream. If you don’t specify a name, AWS CloudFormation generates a unique physical ID and uses that ID for the stream name. For more information, see Name Type . If you specify a name, you cannot perform updates that require replacement of this resource. You can perform updates that require no or some interruption. If you must replace the resource, specify a new name.

  • retention_period_hours (Union[int, float, None]) – The number of hours for the data records that are stored in shards to remain accessible. The default value is 24. For more information about the stream retention period, see Changing the Data Retention Period in the Amazon Kinesis Developer Guide.

  • shard_count (Union[int, float, None]) – The number of shards that the stream uses. For greater provisioned throughput, increase the number of shards.

  • stream_encryption (Union[IResolvable, StreamEncryptionProperty, Dict[str, Any], None]) – When specified, enables or updates server-side encryption using an AWS KMS key for a specified stream. Removing this property from your stack template and updating your stack disables encryption.

  • stream_mode_details (Union[IResolvable, StreamModeDetailsProperty, Dict[str, Any], None]) – Specifies the capacity mode to which you want to set your data stream. Currently, in Kinesis Data Streams, you can choose between an on-demand capacity mode and a provisioned capacity mode for your data streams.

  • tags (Optional[Sequence[Union[CfnTag, Dict[str, Any]]]]) – An arbitrary set of tags (key–value pairs) to associate with the Kinesis stream. For information about constraints for this property, see Tag Restrictions in the Amazon Kinesis Developer Guide .

Syntactic sugar for addOverride(path, undefined).

add_dependency(target)

Indicates that this resource depends on another resource and cannot be provisioned unless the other resource has been successfully provisioned.

This can be used for resources across stacks (or nested stack) boundaries and the dependency will automatically be transferred to the relevant scope.

add_override(path, value)

Adds an override to the synthesized CloudFormation resource.

To add a property override, either use addPropertyOverride or prefix path with “Properties.” (i.e. Properties.TopicName).

If the override is nested, separate each nested level using a dot (.) in the path parameter. If there is an array as part of the nesting, specify the index in the path.

To include a literal . in the property name, prefix with a \. In most programming languages you will need to write this as "\\." because the \ itself will need to be escaped.

The value argument to addOverride will not be processed or translated in any way. Pass raw JSON values in here with the correct capitalization for CloudFormation. If you pass CDK classes or structs, they will be rendered with lowercased key names, and CloudFormation will reject the template.

    • The path of the property, you can use dot notation to override values in complex types. Any intermediate keys will be created as needed.

  • value (Any) –

    • The value. Could be primitive or complex.

add_property_deletion_override(property_path)

Adds an override that deletes the value of a property from the resource definition.

Parameters:

property_path (str) – The path to the property.

add_property_override(property_path, value)

Adds an override to a resource property.

Syntactic sugar for addOverride("Properties.<...>", value).

Parameters:
  • property_path (str) – The path of the property.

  • value (Any) – The value.

apply_removal_policy(policy=None, *, apply_to_update_replace_policy=None, default=None)

Sets the deletion policy of the resource based on the removal policy specified.

The Removal Policy controls what happens to this resource when it stops being managed by CloudFormation, either because you’ve removed it from the CDK application or because you’ve made a change that requires the resource to be replaced.

The resource can be deleted (RemovalPolicy.DESTROY), or left in your AWS account for data recovery and cleanup later (RemovalPolicy.RETAIN). In some cases, a snapshot can be taken of the resource prior to deletion (RemovalPolicy.SNAPSHOT). A list of resources that support this policy can be found in the following link:

  • apply_to_update_replace_policy (Optional[bool]) – Apply the same deletion policy to the resource’s “UpdateReplacePolicy”. Default: true

classmethod is_cfn_element(x)

Returns true if a construct is a stack element (i.e. part of the synthesized cloudformation template).

Uses duck-typing instead of instanceof to allow stack elements from different versions of this library to be included in the same stack.

classmethod is_construct(x)

Checks if x is a construct.

Use this method instead of instanceof to properly detect Construct instances, even when the construct library is symlinked.

Explanation: in JavaScript, multiple copies of the constructs library on disk are seen as independent, completely different libraries. As a consequence, the class Construct in each copy of the constructs library is seen as a different class, and an instance of one class will not test as instanceof the other class. npm install will not create installations like this, but users may manually symlink construct libraries together or use a monorepo tool: in those cases, multiple copies of the constructs library can be accidentally installed, and instanceof will behave unpredictably. It is safest to avoid using instanceof, and using this type-testing method instead.

StreamEncryptionProperty

class CfnStream.StreamEncryptionProperty(*, encryption_type, key_id)

Bases: object

Enables or updates server-side encryption using an AWS KMS key for a specified stream.

When invoking this API, you must use either the StreamARN or the StreamName parameter, or both. It is recommended that you use the StreamARN input parameter when you invoke this API.

Starting encryption is an asynchronous operation. Upon receiving the request, Kinesis Data Streams returns immediately and sets the status of the stream to UPDATING . After the update is complete, Kinesis Data Streams sets the status of the stream back to ACTIVE . Updating or applying encryption normally takes a few seconds to complete, but it can take minutes. You can continue to read and write data to your stream while its status is UPDATING . Once the status of the stream is ACTIVE , encryption begins for records written to the stream.

API Limits: You can successfully apply a new AWS KMS key for server-side encryption 25 times in a rolling 24-hour period.

Note: It can take up to 5 seconds after the stream is in an ACTIVE status before all records written to the stream are encrypted. After you enable encryption, you can verify that encryption is applied by inspecting the API response from PutRecord or PutRecords .

  • encryption_type (str) – The encryption type to use. The only valid value is KMS .

  • key_id (str) – The GUID for the customer-managed AWS KMS key to use for encryption.
