Editing Forecasts - Amazon Connect Decisions

Editing Forecasts

You can adjust forecasts based on your business knowledge and market insights.

To edit a forecast:

  1. Open the chat panel in Plans.

  2. Specify your adjustment by clearly indicating:

    • Time periods to adjust

    • Products and sites affected

    • New forecast values (as absolute numbers or percentage changes)

    • Reason for your adjustment

Example: "Increase the forecast for Product A at Site B by 15% for January 2026 due to planned promotion."

Monitor the status banner:

  • Blue banner: The system is processing your change. The publish button is disabled during this time.

  • Green banner: Your change has been applied successfully. Updated forecasts appear highlighted in light blue.

Providing feedback:

You can also provide feedback to improve future forecasts:

  • Suggestions on how the system should handle missing data

  • Which accuracy metrics are most important for your business

  • Recommendations for new consensus rules or adjustments to existing rules

Concurrent Plan Editing

Since multiple planners can work on the same plan simultaneously, coordination is essential to avoid conflicts:

  • Establish team protocols where each planner is responsible for specific product segments.

  • Watch for the blue "Plan is being updated" banner, which appears across all users when any planner is making changes.

  • Wait for the green "Forecast is updated" banner before starting your own edits.

  • Coordinate editing schedules with your team to avoid conflicts.

  • Establish a team communication practice where planners announce significant changes in a shared channel.
