

# Use `GetBucketVersioning` with a CLI

The following command retrieves the versioning configuration for a bucket named `amzn-s3-demo-bucket`:

aws s3api get-bucket-versioning --bucket amzn-s3-demo-bucket
```
Output:  

```

    "Status": "Enabled"
}
```
