Release: Elastic Beanstalk Linux-based platform updates on June 7, 2019

This release provides new Linux-based platform versions for AWS Elastic Beanstalk. The release includes security updates. It also includes Multicontainer Docker, Go, Java with Tomcat, and Node.js updates.

Changes

Note

Due to a bug in this platform update, the new instance type T3a appears to be available in certain AWS Regions, but when you try to launch it, you'll see the following error.

Service:AmazonCloudFormation, Message:Template error: Unable to get mapping for AWSEBAWSInstanceTypeFamily2Arch::t3a::Arch

These are the impacted AWS Regions:

  • US East (Ohio) – us-east-2

  • US East (N. Virginia) – us-east-1

  • US West (Oregon) – us-west-2

  • Asia Pacific (Singapore) – ap-southeast-1

  • Europe (Ireland) – eu-west-1

We will add support for the T3a instance type in the next Linux platform update.
