Release: Elastic Beanstalk introduces .NET 5 on Linux and Windows Server platforms on November 20, 2020

This release introduces AWS Elastic Beanstalk support for .NET 5 on both the Amazon Linux 2 and the Windows Server platforms. The new platform version for Windows Server also provides Windows security updates, additional framework updates and AWS component updates.

In this latest release, we're adding AWS Elastic Beanstalk support for .NET 5 on the Amazon Linux 2 and Windows Server platforms.

With this release, you can use Elastic Beanstalk to deploy your .NET 5 applications to your AWS Amazon Linux 2 and Windows environments. You can also take advantage of the toolkits, SDKs, and helper tools that AWS offers to help you develop, enhance, and modernize your .NET 5 applications. .NET 5 is supported on Windows Server 2016 and later. In addition to introducing .NET 5 on the Windows Server and Amazon Linux 2 platforms, some additional changes are included for the Windows platform in this release. They are listed in the following table.

Note

Be aware that at the time that these release notes are published, the new platform versions might not yet be available in all the AWS Regions that Elastic Beanstalk supports. It might take a few hours for the release to complete.
