- Ruby 4.0 now includes Bundler 4.0.20. Beginning with Bundler 4.0.19,
bundle install fails instead of warning when your Gemfile.lock needs an update and Bundler is running in deployment mode, which is the default. Deployments that previously continued with a warning now fail with the following event.
Instance deployment: Your 'Gemfile.lock' needs an update but can't be updated because Bundler is running in deployment mode. Regenerate 'Gemfile.lock' with Bundler and redeploy, or set 'BUNDLER_DEPLOYMENT_MODE=false'. The deployment failed.
To resolve this, regenerate Gemfile.lock with Bundler and redeploy, or set the BUNDLER_DEPLOYMENT_MODE environment property to false. Ruby 3.3 and Ruby 3.4 aren't affected.
