# FieldIdentifierUnion

Identifies a field by its ID or by its name. Specify only one member. Identifying a field by name is supported only in `BatchUpdateCase`.

This data type is a UNION, so only one of the following members can be specified when used or returned.

The unique identifier of the field.

Length Constraints: Minimum length of 1. Maximum length of 500.  
Required: No

The name of the field.  
Type: String  
Length Constraints: Minimum length of 1. Maximum length of 100.  
Pattern: `.*[\S]`   
Required: No
