AWS OpsWorks Stacks es compatible con las versiones de 64 bits de varios sistemas operativos integrados, incluidas las distribuciones Amazon y Ubuntu Linux y Microsoft Windows Server. Notas generales:

  • Las instancias de una pila pueden ejecutar Linux o Windows.

    Una pila puede tener diferentes versiones o distribuciones de Linux en instancias distintas, pero no es posible combinar instancias de Linux y Windows.

  • Puede usar AMI (Amazon Machine Images) personalizadas, pero deben estar basadas en una de las AMI AWS OpsWorks compatibles con Stacks que se describen en los temas de esta sección. Aunque se podría crear o registrar instancias con otros sistemas operativos (como CentOS 6.x) que se hayan creado a partir de AMI personalizadas o desarrolladas por la comunidad, no son oficialmente compatibles.

  • Puede iniciar y detener las instancias manualmente o hacer que AWS OpsWorks Stacks escale automáticamente el número de instancias.

    Puede utilizar el escalado automático basado en tiempo con cualquier pila; las pilas de Linux también pueden utilizar el escalado basado en carga.

  • Además de usar AWS OpsWorks Stacks para crear instancias de Amazon EC2, también puede registrar instancias con una pila de Linux que se hayan creado fuera AWS OpsWorks de Stacks.

    Esto incluye instancias de Amazon EC2 y aquellas otras que ejecute en su hardware. No obstante, deben ejecutar una de las distribuciones de Linux compatibles. No puede registrar instancias de Amazon EC2 ni instancias de Windows locales.
