TagResource

Adds a tag to a resource.

Request Syntax

POST /tags?resourceArn=ResourceArn HTTP/1.1 Content-type: application/json { "Tags": [ { "Key": "string", "Value": "string" } ] }

URI Request Parameters

The request uses the following URI parameters.

ResourceArn

The ARN of the resource to add tags to.

Length Constraints: Minimum length of 1. Maximum length of 1011.

Required: Yes

Request Body

The request accepts the following data in JSON format.

Tags

Adds to or modifies the tags of the given resource. Tags are metadata that you can use to manage a resource.

Type: Array of Tag objects

Array Members: Minimum number of 0 items. Maximum number of 200 items.

Required: Yes

Response Syntax

HTTP/1.1 204

Response Elements

If the action is successful, the service sends back an HTTP 204 response with an empty HTTP body.

ConflictException

Adding, updating, or deleting the resource can cause an inconsistent state.

HTTP Status Code: 409

InternalServerException

An unexpected error occurred while processing a request.

HTTP Status Code: 500

ResourceNotFoundException

Resource does not exist.

HTTP Status Code: 404

ThrottlingException

The request was denied because it exceeded the allowed API request rate.

HTTP Status Code: 429

TooManyTagsException

The request was denied because the resource can't have any more tags.

HTTP Status Code: 400

ValidationException

The input did not meet the specified constraints.

HTTP Status Code: 400
