update-chap-credentials

Description

Updates the Challenge-Handshake Authentication Protocol (CHAP) credentials for a specified iSCSI target. By default, a gateway does not have CHAP enabled; however, for added security, you might use it. This operation is supported in the volume and tape gateway types.

Warning

When you update CHAP credentials, all existing connections on the target are closed and initiators must reconnect with the new credentials.

Options

--target-arn (string)

The Amazon Resource Name (ARN) of the iSCSI volume target. Use the DescribeStorediSCSIVolumes operation to return the TargetARN for specified VolumeARN.

--secret-to-authenticate-initiator (string)

The secret key that the initiator (for example, the Windows client) must provide to participate in mutual CHAP with the target.

Note

The secret key must be between 12 and 16 bytes when encoded in UTF-8.

--initiator-name (string)

The iSCSI initiator that connects to the target.

--secret-to-authenticate-target (string)

The secret key that the target must provide to participate in mutual CHAP with the initiator (e.g. Windows client).

Byte constraints: Minimum bytes of 12. Maximum bytes of 16.

Note

The secret key must be between 12 and 16 bytes when encoded in UTF-8.

--cli-input-json (string) Performs service operation based on the JSON string provided. The JSON string follows the format provided by --generate-cli-skeleton. If other arguments are provided on the command line, the CLI values will override the JSON-provided values. It is not possible to pass arbitrary binary values using a JSON-provided value as the string will be taken literally.

--generate-cli-skeleton (string) Prints a JSON skeleton to standard output without sending an API request. If provided with no value or the value input, prints a sample input JSON that can be used as an argument for --cli-input-json. If provided with the value output, it validates the command inputs and returns a sample output JSON for that command.

Global Options

--debug (boolean)

Turn on debug logging.

--endpoint-url (string)

Override command's default URL with the given URL.

--no-verify-ssl (boolean)

By default, the AWS CLI uses SSL when communicating with AWS services. For each SSL connection, the AWS CLI will verify SSL certificates. This option overrides the default behavior of verifying SSL certificates.

--no-paginate (boolean)

Disable automatic pagination.

--output (string)

The formatting style for command output.

  • json
  • text
  • table

--query (string)

A JMESPath query to use in filtering the response data.

--profile (string)

Use a specific profile from your credential file.

--region (string)

The region to use. Overrides config/env settings.

--version (string)

Display the version of this tool.

--color (string)

Turn on/off color output.

  • on
  • off
  • auto

--no-sign-request (boolean)

Do not sign requests. Credentials will not be loaded if this argument is provided.

--ca-bundle (string)

The CA certificate bundle to use when verifying SSL certificates. Overrides config/env settings.

--cli-read-timeout (int)

The maximum socket read time in seconds. If the value is set to 0, the socket read will be blocking and not timeout. The default value is 60 seconds.

--cli-connect-timeout (int)

The maximum socket connect time in seconds. If the value is set to 0, the socket connect will be blocking and not timeout. The default value is 60 seconds.

Output

TargetARN -> (string)

The Amazon Resource Name (ARN) of the target. This is the same target specified in the request.

InitiatorName -> (string)

The iSCSI initiator that connects to the target. This is the same initiator name specified in the request.
