Amazon Elastic File System

Amazon EFS provides file storage for use with Amazon EC2 instances. The service is designed to be highly scalable, highly available, and highly durable. The service manages all the file storage infrastructure for you, meaning that you can avoid the complexity of deploying, patching, and maintaining complex file system configurations.

How Amazon Elastic File System Differs for AWS GovCloud (US)

  • The new EFS management console user interface is not supported in the AWS GovCloud (US).

  • The option to create an EFS file system using the service recommended settings is not supported in the AWS GovCloud (US).

  • The ability to access CloudWatch metrics and alarms in the Amazon EFS console is not supported in the AWS GovCloud (US).

ITAR Boundary

AWS GovCloud (US) has an ITAR boundary, which defines where customers are allowed to store ITAR-controlled data for this service in AWS GovCloud (US) Regions. To maintain ITAR compliance, you must place ITAR-controlled data on the applicable part of the ITAR boundary. If you do not have any ITAR-controlled data in AWS GovCloud (US) Regions, this section does not apply to you. The following information identifies the ITAR boundary for this service:
