Architecture Overview - Guidance for Agentic Vehicle Experience on AWS

Architecture Overview

The Agentic Vehicle Experience (AVX) is a composition layer that does not store or manage vehicle data itself. AVX orchestrates three foundation platforms — Connected Mobility (CMS), the Automotive Data Platform (ADP), and Amazon Connect — into a unified AI-powered channel. A Bedrock AgentCore runtime hosts the supervisor agent and tools that translate every incoming customer interaction into structured reads and writes against those foundations.

This chapter describes the four architectural dimensions of AVX: the composition-layer model and the three foundations it integrates, the AI agent layer, the high-level request and data flow, and the deployment topology. Subsequent chapters elaborate each dimension: Agentic Architecture covers the supervisor and sub-agent mesh in depth; Building on CMS and ADP covers the cross-account data grounding pattern; Contact Center Integration covers Amazon Connect channels and the human handoff.

Personas (service technicians, fleet driver, service advisor, private vehicle owner, retail advisor) reach AVX through Amazon Connect and Amazon API Gateway. Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Runtime hosts two runtimes: Bidi Voice on Amazon Nova 2 Sonic over a bidirectional WebSocket, and Text over HTTPS REST on Claude Sonnet 4.6. Each loads context at session init from Amazon Athena and an AWS Lambda function that reads the CMS Redis last-known-state cache, and reads Amazon DynamoDB per turn. AgentCore Memory, AgentCore Guardrails and AgentCore Identity support both runtimes. The CMS foundation provides Amazon ElastiCache (Redis LKS), Amazon DynamoDB and an AWS Lambda recalls function. Both runtimes read the Automotive Data Platform account cross-account: AWS Lake Formation, Amazon Athena, AWS Glue, Amazon S3 and an Amazon Bedrock Knowledge Base. External partners outside AWS include webhook and API integrations, CRM and ticketing systems, dealer management systems, OEM vehicle telemetry, Amazon Connect and roadside assistance.
