Evaluates the given code and returns the response. The code definition requirements depend on the specified runtime. For APPSYNC_JS
runtimes, the code defines the request and response functions. The request function takes the incoming request after a GraphQL operation is parsed and converts it into a request configuration for the selected data source operation. The response function interprets responses from the data source and maps it to the shape of the GraphQL field output type.

--runtime
(structure)
The runtime to be used when evaluating the code. Currently, only the
APPSYNC_JS
runtime is supported.name -> (string)
Thename
of the runtime to use. Currently, the only allowed value isAPPSYNC_JS
.runtimeVersion -> (string)
Theversion
of the runtime to use. Currently, the only allowed version is1.0.0
.
Shorthand Syntax:
name=string,runtimeVersion=string
JSON Syntax:
{
"name": "APPSYNC_JS",
"runtimeVersion": "string"
}
--code
(string)
The code definition to be evaluated. Note thatcode
andruntime
are both required for this action. Theruntime
value must beAPPSYNC_JS
.
--context
(string)
The map that holds all of the contextual information for your resolver invocation. Acontext
is required for this action.
--function
(string)
The function within the code to be evaluated. If provided, the valid values arerequest
andresponse
.
--cli-input-json
(string)
Performs service operation based on the JSON string provided. The JSON string follows the format provided by --generate-cli-skeleton
. If other arguments are provided on the command line, the CLI values will override the JSON-provided values. It is not possible to pass arbitrary binary values using a JSON-provided value as the string will be taken literally.
--generate-cli-skeleton
(string)
Prints a JSON skeleton to standard output without sending an API request. If provided with no value or the value input
, prints a sample input JSON that can be used as an argument for --cli-input-json
. If provided with the value output
, it validates the command inputs and returns a sample output JSON for that command.
--debug
(boolean)
Turn on debug logging.
--endpoint-url
(string)
Override command's default URL with the given URL.
--no-verify-ssl
(boolean)
By default, the AWS CLI uses SSL when communicating with AWS services. For each SSL connection, the AWS CLI will verify SSL certificates. This option overrides the default behavior of verifying SSL certificates.
--no-paginate
(boolean)
Disable automatic pagination. If automatic pagination is disabled, the AWS CLI will only make one call, for the first page of results.
--output
(string)
The formatting style for command output.
--query
(string)
A JMESPath query to use in filtering the response data.
--profile
(string)
Use a specific profile from your credential file.
--region
(string)
The region to use. Overrides config/env settings.
--version
(string)
Display the version of this tool.
--color
(string)
Turn on/off color output.
--no-sign-request
(boolean)
Do not sign requests. Credentials will not be loaded if this argument is provided.
--ca-bundle
(string)
The CA certificate bundle to use when verifying SSL certificates. Overrides config/env settings.
--cli-read-timeout
(int)
The maximum socket read time in seconds. If the value is set to 0, the socket read will be blocking and not timeout. The default value is 60 seconds.
--cli-connect-timeout
(int)
The maximum socket connect time in seconds. If the value is set to 0, the socket connect will be blocking and not timeout. The default value is 60 seconds.
evaluationResult -> (string)
The result of the evaluation operation.
error -> (structure)
Contains the payload of the response error.
message -> (string)
The error payload.codeErrors -> (list)
Contains the list of
CodeError
objects.(structure)
Describes an AppSync error.
errorType -> (string)
The type of code error.
Examples include, but aren't limited to:
LINT_ERROR
,PARSER_ERROR
.value -> (string)
A user presentable error.
Examples include, but aren't limited to:
Parsing error: Unterminated string literal
.location -> (structure)
The line, column, and span location of the error in the code.
line -> (integer)
The line number in the code. Defaults to0
if unknown.column -> (integer)
The column number in the code. Defaults to0
if unknown.span -> (integer)
The span/length of the error. Defaults to-1
if unknown.

util.log.info
andutil.log.error
in the evaluated code.(string)
