Using the Camera Space

A camera space manipulator is built into the rotation manipulator. You can rotate entities based on the editor’s camera view.

To use the camera space

  1. In the viewport, select an entity.

  2. Adjust the camera around the selected entity in the viewport. You can use the following camera shortcuts to adjust your view.

    Adjusting the Camera View

    Shortcut Description
    Right-click in the viewport, hold, and move the mouse.

    Enables you to look freely in the level.

    Do one of the following:

    • Press and hold Alt and right-click in the viewport.

    • Press and hold the middle mouse button and right-click in the viewport.

    Dollies the camera to zoom in or out.

    Press and hold the middle mouse button.

    Pans the camera.

    Press and hold Shift and press the middle mouse button.

    Orbits the camera.

    Moving the Camera

    Shortcut Description
    Press W, A, S, and D.

    Moves the camera forward, left, back, and right.

    Press Q and E.

    Moves the camera down and up.

    Press and hold Shift and press W, A, S, and D.

    Quickly moves the camera in the specified direction.

    Example

    In the following example, you can adjust the camera space so that your selected entity remains the center of focus in the viewport.
