ListTagsForResource

Returns a list of tags for the specified resource. Each tag consists of a key and optional value.

Request Syntax

GET /tags/resourceArn HTTP/1.1

URI Request Parameters

The request uses the following URI parameters.

resourceArn

The Amazon Resource Name (ARN) of the resource. For more information about ARNs and their format, see Amazon Resource Names (ARNs) in the AWS General Reference.

Length Constraints: Minimum length of 1. Maximum length of 1011.

Pattern: ^arn:.+:.+:.+:.+:.+

Required: Yes

Request Body

The request does not have a request body.

Response Syntax

HTTP/1.1 200 Content-type: application/json { "Tags": { "string" : "string" } }

Response Elements

If the action is successful, the service sends back an HTTP 200 response.

The following data is returned in JSON format by the service.

Tags

The tags assigned to the resource.

Type: String to string map

Map Entries: Minimum number of 0 items. Maximum number of 200 items.

Key Length Constraints: Minimum length of 1. Maximum length of 128.

Value Length Constraints: Minimum length of 0. Maximum length of 256.

InternalServiceErrorException

The request processing has failed because of an unknown error, exception or failure.

HTTP Status Code: 500

InvalidRequestException

The action or operation requested is invalid. Verify that the action is typed correctly.

HTTP Status Code: 400

ResourceNotFoundException

A requested resource doesn't exist. It may have been deleted or referenced incorrectly.

HTTP Status Code: 404

ResourceNotReadyException

The requested resource exists but isn't in a status that can complete the operation.

HTTP Status Code: 409
