Synopsis

Calls the Amazon Elastic Container Service for Kubernetes DescribeCluster API operation.

Description

Describes an Amazon EKS cluster. The API server endpoint and certificate authority data returned by this operation are required for kubelet and kubectl to communicate with your Kubernetes API server. For more information, see Creating or updating a kubeconfig file for an Amazon EKS cluster. The API server endpoint and certificate authority data aren't available until the cluster reaches the ACTIVE state.

Use the -Select parameter to control the cmdlet output. The default value is 'Cluster'. Specifying -Select '*' will result in the cmdlet returning the whole service response (Amazon.EKS.Model.DescribeClusterResponse). Specifying the name of a property of type Amazon.EKS.Model.DescribeClusterResponse will result in that property being returned. Specifying -Select '^ParameterName' will result in the cmdlet returning the selected cmdlet parameter value.
