Synopsis

Calls the AWS OpsWorks DescribeStackSummary API operation.

Description

Describes the number of layers and apps in a specified stack, and the number of instances in each state, such as running_setup or online. Required Permissions: To use this action, an IAM user must have a Show, Deploy, or Manage permissions level for the stack, or an attached policy that explicitly grants permissions. For more information about user permissions, see Managing User Permissions.

Use the -Select parameter to control the cmdlet output. The default value is 'StackSummary'. Specifying -Select '*' will result in the cmdlet returning the whole service response (Amazon.OpsWorks.Model.DescribeStackSummaryResponse). Specifying the name of a property of type Amazon.OpsWorks.Model.DescribeStackSummaryResponse will result in that property being returned. Specifying -Select '^ParameterName' will result in the cmdlet returning the selected cmdlet parameter value.

This cmdlet returns an Amazon.OpsWorks.Model.StackSummary object. The service call response (type Amazon.OpsWorks.Model.DescribeStackSummaryResponse) can also be referenced from properties attached to the cmdlet entry in the $AWSHistory stack.
