-GatewayARN <String>
-TapeBarcode <String>
-KMSEncrypted <Boolean>
-KMSKey <String>
-PoolId <String>
-Tag <Tag[]>
-TapeSizeInByte <Int64>
-Worm <Boolean>
-Select <String>
-PassThru <SwitchParameter>
-Force <SwitchParameter>
-ClientConfig <AmazonStorageGatewayConfig>

Description

Creates a virtual tape by using your own barcode. You write data to the virtual tape and then archive the tape. A barcode is unique and cannot be reused if it has already been used on a tape. This applies to barcodes used on deleted tapes. This operation is only supported in the tape gateway type. Cache storage must be allocated to the gateway before you can create a virtual tape. Use the AddCache operation to add cache storage to a gateway.

Parameters

Amazon.PowerShell.Cmdlets.SG.AmazonStorageGatewayClientCmdlet.ClientConfig
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
This parameter overrides confirmation prompts to force the cmdlet to continue its operation. This parameter should always be used with caution.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
-GatewayARN <String>
The unique Amazon Resource Name (ARN) that represents the gateway to associate the virtual tape with. Use the ListGateways operation to return a list of gateways for your account and Amazon Web Services Region.
Required?True
Position?1
Accept pipeline input?True (ByValue, ByPropertyName)
-KMSEncrypted <Boolean>
Set to true to use Amazon S3 server-side encryption with your own KMS key, or false to use a key managed by Amazon S3. Optional.Valid Values: true | false
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
-KMSKey <String>
The Amazon Resource Name (ARN) of a symmetric customer master key (CMK) used for Amazon S3 server-side encryption. Storage Gateway does not support asymmetric CMKs. This value can only be set when KMSEncrypted is true. Optional.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
-PassThru <SwitchParameter>
Changes the cmdlet behavior to return the value passed to the GatewayARN parameter. The -PassThru parameter is deprecated, use -Select '^GatewayARN' instead. This parameter will be removed in a future version.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
-PoolId <String>
The ID of the pool that you want to add your tape to for archiving. The tape in this pool is archived in the S3 storage class that is associated with the pool. When you use your backup application to eject the tape, the tape is archived directly into the storage class (S3 Glacier or S3 Deep Archive) that corresponds to the pool.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
-Select <String>
Use the -Select parameter to control the cmdlet output. The default value is 'TapeARN'. Specifying -Select '*' will result in the cmdlet returning the whole service response (Amazon.StorageGateway.Model.CreateTapeWithBarcodeResponse). Specifying the name of a property of type Amazon.StorageGateway.Model.CreateTapeWithBarcodeResponse will result in that property being returned. Specifying -Select '^ParameterName' will result in the cmdlet returning the selected cmdlet parameter value.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
-Tag <Tag[]>
A list of up to 50 tags that can be assigned to a virtual tape that has a barcode. Each tag is a key-value pair.Valid characters for key and value are letters, spaces, and numbers representable in UTF-8 format, and the following special characters: + - = . _ : / @. The maximum length of a tag's key is 128 characters, and the maximum length for a tag's value is 256.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
AliasesTags
-TapeBarcode <String>
The barcode that you want to assign to the tape.Barcodes cannot be reused. This includes barcodes used for tapes that have been deleted.
Required?True
Position?2
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
-TapeSizeInByte <Int64>
The size, in bytes, of the virtual tape that you want to create. The size must be aligned by gigabyte (1024*1024*1024 bytes).
Required?True
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
AliasesTapeSizeInBytes
-Worm <Boolean>
Set to TRUE if the tape you are creating is to be configured as a write-once-read-many (WORM) tape.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)

Common Credential and Region Parameters

-AccessKey <String>
The AWS access key for the user account. This can be a temporary access key if the corresponding session token is supplied to the -SessionToken parameter.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
AliasesAK
-Credential <AWSCredentials>
An AWSCredentials object instance containing access and secret key information, and optionally a token for session-based credentials.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByValue, ByPropertyName)
-EndpointUrl <String>
The endpoint to make the call against.Note: This parameter is primarily for internal AWS use and is not required/should not be specified for normal usage. The cmdlets normally determine which endpoint to call based on the region specified to the -Region parameter or set as default in the shell (via Set-DefaultAWSRegion). Only specify this parameter if you must direct the call to a specific custom endpoint.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
-NetworkCredential <PSCredential>
Used with SAML-based authentication when ProfileName references a SAML role profile. Contains the network credentials to be supplied during authentication with the configured identity provider's endpoint. This parameter is not required if the user's default network identity can or should be used during authentication.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByValue, ByPropertyName)
-ProfileLocation <String>
Used to specify the name and location of the ini-format credential file (shared with the AWS CLI and other AWS SDKs)If this optional parameter is omitted this cmdlet will search the encrypted credential file used by the AWS SDK for .NET and AWS Toolkit for Visual Studio first. If the profile is not found then the cmdlet will search in the ini-format credential file at the default location: (user's home directory)\.aws\credentials.If this parameter is specified then this cmdlet will only search the ini-format credential file at the location given. As the current folder can vary in a shell or during script execution it is advised that you use specify a fully qualified path instead of a relative path.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
AliasesAWSProfilesLocation, ProfilesLocation
-ProfileName <String>
The user-defined name of an AWS credentials or SAML-based role profile containing credential information. The profile is expected to be found in the secure credential file shared with the AWS SDK for .NET and AWS Toolkit for Visual Studio. You can also specify the name of a profile stored in the .ini-format credential file used with the AWS CLI and other AWS SDKs.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)

Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
AliasesRegionToCall
-SecretKey <String>
The AWS secret key for the user account. This can be a temporary secret key if the corresponding session token is supplied to the -SessionToken parameter.

The session token if the access and secret keys are temporary session-based credentials.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
AliasesST

Outputs

This cmdlet returns a System.String object. The service call response (type Amazon.StorageGateway.Model.CreateTapeWithBarcodeResponse) can also be referenced from properties attached to the cmdlet entry in the $AWSHistory stack.
