Synopsis

Calls the Amazon Kinesis Video Streams UpdateDataRetention API operation.

Syntax

Update-KVDataRetention
-StreamName <String>
-CurrentVersion <String>
-DataRetentionChangeInHour <Int32>
-Operation <UpdateDataRetentionOperation>
-StreamARN <String>
-Select <String>
-PassThru <SwitchParameter>
-Force <SwitchParameter>
-ClientConfig <AmazonKinesisVideoConfig>

Description

Increases or decreases the stream's data retention period by the value that you specify. To indicate whether you want to increase or decrease the data retention period, specify the Operation parameter in the request body. In the request, you must specify either the StreamName or the StreamARN. This operation requires permission for the KinesisVideo:UpdateDataRetention action. Changing the data retention period affects the data in the stream as follows:
  • If the data retention period is increased, existing data is retained for the new retention period. For example, if the data retention period is increased from one hour to seven hours, all existing data is retained for seven hours.
  • If the data retention period is decreased, existing data is retained for the new retention period. For example, if the data retention period is decreased from seven hours to one hour, all existing data is retained for one hour, and any data older than one hour is deleted immediately.

Parameters

-ClientConfig <AmazonKinesisVideoConfig>
Amazon.PowerShell.Cmdlets.KV.AmazonKinesisVideoClientCmdlet.ClientConfig
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
-CurrentVersion <String>
The version of the stream whose retention period you want to change. To get the version, call either the DescribeStream or the ListStreams API.
Required?True
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
-DataRetentionChangeInHour <Int32>
The number of hours to adjust the current retention by. The value you specify is added to or subtracted from the current value, depending on the operation. The minimum value for data retention is 0 and the maximum value is 87600 (ten years).
Required?True
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
AliasesDataRetentionChangeInHours
This parameter overrides confirmation prompts to force the cmdlet to continue its operation. This parameter should always be used with caution.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
Indicates whether you want to increase or decrease the retention period.
Required?True
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
-PassThru <SwitchParameter>
Changes the cmdlet behavior to return the value passed to the StreamName parameter. The -PassThru parameter is deprecated, use -Select '^StreamName' instead. This parameter will be removed in a future version.
Required?False

Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
-Select <String>
Use the -Select parameter to control the cmdlet output. The cmdlet doesn't have a return value by default. Specifying -Select '*' will result in the cmdlet returning the whole service response (Amazon.KinesisVideo.Model.UpdateDataRetentionResponse). Specifying -Select '^ParameterName' will result in the cmdlet returning the selected cmdlet parameter value.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
-StreamARN <String>
The Amazon Resource Name (ARN) of the stream whose retention period you want to change.
Required?False

Common Credential and Region Parameters

The AWS access key for the user account. This can be a temporary access key if the corresponding session token is supplied to the -SessionToken parameter.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
AliasesAK

Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByValue, ByPropertyName)
-EndpointUrl <String>
The endpoint to make the call against.Note: This parameter is primarily for internal AWS use and is not required/should not be specified for normal usage. Only specify this parameter if you must direct the call to a specific custom endpoint.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
-NetworkCredential <PSCredential>
Used with SAML-based authentication when ProfileName references a SAML role profile. Contains the network credentials to be supplied during authentication with the configured identity provider's endpoint. This parameter is not required if the user's default network identity can or should be used during authentication.
Required?False
