# Throughput and data freshness

+ For the S3 Tables destination, a Channel needs at least 2.4 MB/s of uncompressed throughput for the minimum 5-minute data freshness. If your topic produces less, increase the data freshness interval (up to 15 minutes) so the service can accumulate enough data for efficient delivery and inline compaction.
+ Set a Amazon CloudWatch alarm on `DataFreshness` to detect when freshness degrades beyond your configured interval.
+ You can configure multiple Channels to read from the same topic without consuming broker throughput.
