Testing Content Moderation version 7 and transforming the API response
Rekognition updated the machine learning model for the image video components of Content Moderation label detection feature from version 6.1 to 7. This update enhanced overall accuracy, and introduced several new categories along with modifying others.
If you are a current video user of version 6.1, we recommend you to take the following actions to seamlessly transition to version 7:

Download and use an AWS private SDK (see the AWS SDK and Usage Guide for Content Moderation version 7 ) to call the StartContentModeration API.

Review the updated list of labels and confidence scores returned in the API response or console. Adjust your application post-processing logic accordingly if necessary.

Your account will remain on version 6.1 until May 13, 2024. If you wish to use version 6.1 beyond May 13, 2024, contact the AWS Support team
by April 30, 2024 to request for an extension. We can extend your account to remain on version 6.1 until June 10, 2024. If we do not hear from you by April 30, 2024, your account will be automatically migrated to version 7.0 starting May 13, 2024.
Label mappings for Versions 6.1 to 7
Content moderation version 7 added new label categories and modified previously existing label names. Reference the taxonomy table found at Label Categories when deciding how to map 6.1 labels to 7 labels.
Some example label mappings are found in the following section. We recommend you review these mappings and the label definitions before making the necessary updates based on your application’s post-processing logic.
