Manage users and groups in your channel

Note

You can only add existing users and groups from your private re:Post to your channels.

To add users or groups to your channel within your private re:Post, follow these steps:

  1. Open the re:Post Private console at https://console.aws.amazon.com/repost-private/.

  2. In the navigation pane, choose All my private re:Posts.

  3. Choose the private re:Post that you want to manage, and then choose the Channels tab.

  4. Select the channel where you want to add the users or groups.

  5. Choose Manage users.

    You see the list of all users and groups in your private re:Post.

  6. Select one or more users and groups that you want to add to the channel.

  7. Choose Add to channel.

    The users and groups that you selected are added to the channel.

    You can see the updated status of the users and groups in the Status column.

  8. Choose Close.

Note

You can't assign a user or group as an administrator for your channel.

To remove users or groups from your channel within your private re:Post, follow these steps:

  1. Choose the Channels tab.

  2. Select the channel from where you want to remove the users or groups.

  3. Choose Manage users.

    You see the list of all users and groups in your channel.

  4. Select one or more users and groups that you want to remove from the channel.

  5. Choose Remove from channel.

    The users and groups that you selected are removed from the channel.

    You can see the updated status of the users and groups in the Status column.

  6. Choose Close.

A user or group that you remove from your channel isn't removed from your private re:Post. A user or group that you remove from your private re:Post is removed from all the channels within that private re:Post.

To edit the roles of one or more users or groups in your channel, follow these steps:

  1. Choose the Channels tab.

  2. Select the channel where you want to edit the roles of the users or groups.

  3. Choose Manage users.

    You see the list of all users and groups in your channel.

  4. Select one or more users and groups that you want to edit the roles for.

  5. Choose Edit role.

  6. Select the desired option.

    With the options that are provided, you can choose to make your channel user or group an expert, moderator, or support requester. Also, you can remove these roles from your users or groups. For more information on these roles, see Assign a role to a user in your private re:Post.

    You can see the updated roles for the users and groups in the Roles column.

  7. Choose Close.

You can set the roles for users or groups within a channel to be different from those within your private re:Post.
