Overview ▾

Package cloudwatchrum provides the client and types for making API requests to CloudWatch RUM.

With Amazon CloudWatch RUM, you can perform real-user monitoring to collect client-side data about your web application performance from actual user sessions in real time. The data collected includes page load times, client-side errors, and user behavior. When you view this data, you can see it all aggregated together and also see breakdowns by the browsers and devices that your customers use.

<p>You can use the collected data to quickly identify and debug client-side
performance issues. CloudWatch RUM helps you visualize anomalies in your
application performance and find relevant debugging data such as error
messages, stack traces, and user sessions. You can also use RUM to understand
the range of end-user impact including the number of users, geolocations,
and browsers used.</p>

See https://docs.aws.amazon.com/goto/WebAPI/rum-2018-05-10 for more information on this service.

See cloudwatchrum package documentation for more information. https://docs.aws.amazon.com/sdk-for-go/api/service/cloudwatchrum/

Using the Client

To contact CloudWatch RUM with the SDK use the New function to create a new service client. With that client you can make API requests to the service. These clients are safe to use concurrently.

See the SDK's documentation for more information on how to use the SDK. https://docs.aws.amazon.com/sdk-for-go/api/

See aws.Config documentation for more information on configuring SDK clients. https://docs.aws.amazon.com/sdk-for-go/api/aws/#Config

See the CloudWatch RUM client CloudWatchRUM for more information on creating client for this service. https://docs.aws.amazon.com/sdk-for-go/api/service/cloudwatchrum/#New

The stub package, cloudwatchrumiface, can be used to provide alternative implementations of service clients, such as mocking the client for testing.

type CloudWatchRUM

type CloudWatchRUM struct {
    *client.Client
}

CloudWatchRUM provides the API operation methods for making requests to CloudWatch RUM. See this package's package overview docs for details on the service.

CloudWatchRUM methods are safe to use concurrently. It is not safe to modify mutate any of the struct's properties though.

func New

func New(p client.ConfigProvider, cfgs ...*aws.Config) *CloudWatchRUM

New creates a new instance of the CloudWatchRUM client with a session. If additional configuration is needed for the client instance use the optional aws.Config parameter to add your extra config.

Example:

mySession := session.Must(session.NewSession())

// Create a CloudWatchRUM client from just a session.
svc := cloudwatchrum.New(mySession)

// Create a CloudWatchRUM client with additional configuration
svc := cloudwatchrum.New(mySession, aws.NewConfig().WithRegion("us-west-2"))

func (*CloudWatchRUM) CreateAppMonitor

func (c *CloudWatchRUM) CreateAppMonitor(input *CreateAppMonitorInput) (*CreateAppMonitorOutput, error)

CreateAppMonitor API operation for CloudWatch RUM.

Creates a Amazon CloudWatch RUM app monitor, which collects telemetry data from your application and sends that data to RUM. The data includes performance and reliability information such as page load time, client-side errors, and user behavior.

You use this operation only to create a new app monitor. To update an existing app monitor, use UpdateAppMonitor (https://docs.aws.amazon.com/cloudwatchrum/latest/APIReference/API_UpdateAppMonitor.html) instead.

After you create an app monitor, sign in to the CloudWatch RUM console to get the JavaScript code snippet to add to your web application. For more information, see How do I find a code snippet that I've already generated? (https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonCloudWatch/latest/monitoring/CloudWatch-RUM-find-code-snippet.html)

Returns awserr.Error for service API and SDK errors. Use runtime type assertions with awserr.Error's Code and Message methods to get detailed information about the error.

See the AWS API reference guide for CloudWatch RUM's API operation CreateAppMonitor for usage and error information.

Returned Error Types:

* ConflictException
This operation attempted to create a resource that already exists.

* ServiceQuotaExceededException
This request exceeds a service quota.

* InternalServerException
Internal service exception.

* ValidationException
One of the arguments for the request is not valid.

* ThrottlingException
The request was throttled because of quota limits.

* AccessDeniedException
You don't have sufficient permissions to perform this action.

See also, https://docs.aws.amazon.com/goto/WebAPI/rum-2018-05-10/CreateAppMonitor

func (*CloudWatchRUM) CreateAppMonitorRequest

func (c *CloudWatchRUM) CreateAppMonitorRequest(input *CreateAppMonitorInput) (req *request.Request, output *CreateAppMonitorOutput)

CreateAppMonitorRequest generates a "aws/request.Request" representing the client's request for the CreateAppMonitor operation. The "output" return value will be populated with the request's response once the request completes successfully.

Use "Send" method on the returned Request to send the API call to the service. the "output" return value is not valid until after Send returns without error.

See CreateAppMonitor for more information on using the CreateAppMonitor API call, and error handling.

This method is useful when you want to inject custom logic or configuration into the SDK's request lifecycle. Such as custom headers, or retry logic.

// Example sending a request using the CreateAppMonitorRequest method.
req, resp := client.CreateAppMonitorRequest(params)

err := req.Send()
if err == nil { // resp is now filled
    fmt.Println(resp)
}

func (*CloudWatchRUM) CreateAppMonitorWithContext

func (c *CloudWatchRUM) CreateAppMonitorWithContext(ctx aws.Context, input *CreateAppMonitorInput, opts ...request.Option) (*CreateAppMonitorOutput, error)

CreateAppMonitorWithContext is the same as CreateAppMonitor with the addition of the ability to pass a context and additional request options.

See CreateAppMonitor for details on how to use this API operation.

The context must be non-nil and will be used for request cancellation. If the context is nil a panic will occur. In the future the SDK may create sub-contexts for http.Requests. See https://golang.org/pkg/context/ for more information on using Contexts.

func (*CloudWatchRUM) DeleteAppMonitor

func (c *CloudWatchRUM) DeleteAppMonitor(input *DeleteAppMonitorInput) (*DeleteAppMonitorOutput, error)

DeleteAppMonitor API operation for CloudWatch RUM.

Deletes an existing app monitor. This immediately stops the collection of data.

Returns awserr.Error for service API and SDK errors. Use runtime type assertions with awserr.Error's Code and Message methods to get detailed information about the error.

See the AWS API reference guide for CloudWatch RUM's API operation DeleteAppMonitor for usage and error information.

Returned Error Types:

* ConflictException
This operation attempted to create a resource that already exists.

* ResourceNotFoundException
Resource not found.

* InternalServerException
Internal service exception.

* ValidationException
One of the arguments for the request is not valid.

* ThrottlingException
The request was throttled because of quota limits.

* AccessDeniedException
You don't have sufficient permissions to perform this action.

See also, https://docs.aws.amazon.com/goto/WebAPI/rum-2018-05-10/DeleteAppMonitor

func (*CloudWatchRUM) DeleteAppMonitorRequest
