Runs the SQL query statements contained in the Query. Requires you to have access to the workgroup in which the query ran. Running queries against an external catalog requires GetDataCatalog permission to the catalog. Note:

This is an asynchronous operation using the standard naming convention for .NET 4.5 or higher. For .NET 3.5 the operation is implemented as a pair of methods using the standard naming convention of BeginStartQueryExecution and EndStartQueryExecution.

Parameters

request
Type: Amazon.Athena.Model.StartQueryExecutionRequest

Container for the necessary parameters to execute the StartQueryExecution service method.

cancellationToken
Type: System.Threading.CancellationToken

A cancellation token that can be used by other objects or threads to receive notice of cancellation.

Return Value


The response from the StartQueryExecution service method, as returned by Athena.

Exceptions

ExceptionCondition
InternalServerException Indicates a platform issue, which may be due to a transient condition or outage.
InvalidRequestException Indicates that something is wrong with the input to the request. For example, a required parameter may be missing or out of range.
TooManyRequestsException Indicates that the request was throttled.
