Creates a log stream for the specified log group. A log stream is a sequence of log events that originate from a single source, such as an application instance or a resource that is being monitored.

There is no limit on the number of log streams that you can create for a log group. There is a limit of 50 TPS on CreateLogStream operations, after which transactions are throttled.

You must use the following guidelines when naming a log stream:

This is an asynchronous operation using the standard naming convention for .NET 4.5 or higher. For .NET 3.5 the operation is implemented as a pair of methods using the standard naming convention of BeginCreateLogStream and EndCreateLogStream.

Parameters

request
Type: Amazon.CloudWatchLogs.Model.CreateLogStreamRequest

Container for the necessary parameters to execute the CreateLogStream service method.

cancellationToken
Type: System.Threading.CancellationToken

A cancellation token that can be used by other objects or threads to receive notice of cancellation.

Return Value


The response from the CreateLogStream service method, as returned by CloudWatchLogs.

Exceptions

ExceptionCondition
InvalidParameterException A parameter is specified incorrectly.
ResourceAlreadyExistsException The specified resource already exists.
ResourceNotFoundException The specified resource does not exist.
ServiceUnavailableException The service cannot complete the request.
