Starts the specified pipeline. Specifically, it begins processing the latest commit to the source location specified as part of the pipeline.

Note:

This is an asynchronous operation using the standard naming convention for .NET 4.5 or higher. For .NET 3.5 the operation is implemented as a pair of methods using the standard naming convention of BeginStartPipelineExecution and EndStartPipelineExecution.

Parameters

name
Type: System.String

The name of the pipeline to start.

cancellationToken
Type: System.Threading.CancellationToken

A cancellation token that can be used by other objects or threads to receive notice of cancellation.

Return Value


The response from the StartPipelineExecution service method, as returned by CodePipeline.

Exceptions

ExceptionCondition
ConcurrentPipelineExecutionsLimitExceededException The pipeline has reached the limit for concurrent pipeline executions.
ConflictException Your request cannot be handled because the pipeline is busy handling ongoing activities. Try again later.
PipelineNotFoundException The pipeline was specified in an invalid format or cannot be found.
ValidationException The validation was specified in an invalid format.
