Provisions a private virtual interface to be owned by the specified Amazon Web Services account.

Virtual interfaces created using this action must be confirmed by the owner using ConfirmPrivateVirtualInterface. Until then, the virtual interface is in the Confirming state and is not available to handle traffic.

Note:

This is an asynchronous operation using the standard naming convention for .NET 4.5 or higher. For .NET 3.5 the operation is implemented as a pair of methods using the standard naming convention of BeginAllocatePrivateVirtualInterface and EndAllocatePrivateVirtualInterface.

Parameters

request
Type: Amazon.DirectConnect.Model.AllocatePrivateVirtualInterfaceRequest

Container for the necessary parameters to execute the AllocatePrivateVirtualInterface service method.

cancellationToken
Type: System.Threading.CancellationToken

A cancellation token that can be used by other objects or threads to receive notice of cancellation.

Return Value


The response from the AllocatePrivateVirtualInterface service method, as returned by DirectConnect.

Exceptions

ExceptionCondition
DirectConnectClientException One or more parameters are not valid.
DirectConnectServerException A server-side error occurred.
DuplicateTagKeysException A tag key was specified more than once.
TooManyTagsException You have reached the limit on the number of tags that can be assigned.
