Adds tags to an Amazon EMR resource, such as a cluster or an Amazon EMR Studio. Tags make it easier to associate resources in various ways, such as grouping clusters to track your Amazon EMR resource allocation costs. For more information, see Tag Clusters.

Note:

This is an asynchronous operation using the standard naming convention for .NET 4.5 or higher. For .NET 3.5 the operation is implemented as a pair of methods using the standard naming convention of BeginAddTags and EndAddTags.

Parameters

request
Type: Amazon.ElasticMapReduce.Model.AddTagsRequest

Container for the necessary parameters to execute the AddTags service method.

cancellationToken
Type: System.Threading.CancellationToken

A cancellation token that can be used by other objects or threads to receive notice of cancellation.

Return Value


The response from the AddTags service method, as returned by ElasticMapReduce.

Exceptions

ExceptionCondition
InternalServerException This exception occurs when there is an internal failure in the Amazon EMR service.
InvalidRequestException This exception occurs when there is something wrong with user input.
