Deletes the specified thing. Returns successfully with no error if the deletion is successful or you specify a thing that doesn't exist.

Requires permission to access the DeleteThing action.

Note:

This is an asynchronous operation using the standard naming convention for .NET 4.5 or higher. For .NET 3.5 the operation is implemented as a pair of methods using the standard naming convention of BeginDeleteThing and EndDeleteThing.

Parameters

request
Type: Amazon.IoT.Model.DeleteThingRequest

Container for the necessary parameters to execute the DeleteThing service method.

cancellationToken
Type: System.Threading.CancellationToken

A cancellation token that can be used by other objects or threads to receive notice of cancellation.

Return Value


The response from the DeleteThing service method, as returned by IoT.

Exceptions

InternalFailureException An unexpected error has occurred.
InvalidRequestException The request is not valid.
ResourceNotFoundException The specified resource does not exist.
ServiceUnavailableException The service is temporarily unavailable.
ThrottlingException The rate exceeds the limit.

VersionConflictException An exception thrown when the version of an entity specified with the expectedVersion parameter does not match the latest version in the system.
