Replaces the rule. You must specify all parameters for the new rule. Creating rules is an administrator-level action. Any user who has permission to create rules will be able to access data processed by the rule.

Requires permission to access the ReplaceTopicRule action.

Note:

This is an asynchronous operation using the standard naming convention for .NET 4.5 or higher. For .NET 3.5 the operation is implemented as a pair of methods using the standard naming convention of BeginReplaceTopicRule and EndReplaceTopicRule.

Parameters

request
Type: Amazon.IoT.Model.ReplaceTopicRuleRequest

Container for the necessary parameters to execute the ReplaceTopicRule service method.

cancellationToken
Type: System.Threading.CancellationToken

A cancellation token that can be used by other objects or threads to receive notice of cancellation.

Return Value


The response from the ReplaceTopicRule service method, as returned by IoT.

Exceptions

ExceptionCondition
ConflictingResourceUpdateException A conflicting resource update exception. This exception is thrown when two pending updates cause a conflict.
InternalException An unexpected error has occurred.
InvalidRequestException The request is not valid.
ServiceUnavailableException The service is temporarily unavailable.
SqlParseException The Rule-SQL expression can't be parsed correctly.
UnauthorizedException You are not authorized to perform this operation.
