Creates a traffic policy, which you use to create multiple DNS resource record sets for one domain name (such as example.com) or one subdomain name (such as www.example.com).

Note:

This is an asynchronous operation using the standard naming convention for .NET 4.5 or higher. For .NET 3.5 the operation is implemented as a pair of methods using the standard naming convention of BeginCreateTrafficPolicy and EndCreateTrafficPolicy.

Parameters

request
Type: Amazon.Route53.Model.CreateTrafficPolicyRequest

Container for the necessary parameters to execute the CreateTrafficPolicy service method.

cancellationToken
Type: System.Threading.CancellationToken

A cancellation token that can be used by other objects or threads to receive notice of cancellation.

Return Value


The response from the CreateTrafficPolicy service method, as returned by Route53.

Exceptions

ExceptionCondition
InvalidInputException The input is not valid.
InvalidTrafficPolicyDocumentException The format of the traffic policy document that you specified in the Document element is not valid.
TooManyTrafficPoliciesException This traffic policy can't be created because the current account has reached the limit on the number of traffic policies. For information about default limits, see Limits in the Amazon Route 53 Developer Guide. To get the current limit for an account, see GetAccountLimit. To request a higher limit, create a case with the Amazon Web Services Support Center.
TrafficPolicyAlreadyExistsException A traffic policy that has the same value for Name already exists.
