Sends a signal to an Automation execution to change the current behavior or status of the execution.

Note:

This is an asynchronous operation using the standard naming convention for .NET 4.5 or higher. For .NET 3.5 the operation is implemented as a pair of methods using the standard naming convention of BeginSendAutomationSignal and EndSendAutomationSignal.

Parameters

request
Type: Amazon.SimpleSystemsManagement.Model.SendAutomationSignalRequest

Container for the necessary parameters to execute the SendAutomationSignal service method.

cancellationToken
Type: System.Threading.CancellationToken

A cancellation token that can be used by other objects or threads to receive notice of cancellation.

Return Value


The response from the SendAutomationSignal service method, as returned by SimpleSystemsManagement.

Exceptions

ExceptionCondition
AutomationExecutionNotFoundException There is no automation execution information for the requested automation execution ID.
AutomationStepNotFoundException The specified step name and execution ID don't exist. Verify the information and try again.
InternalServerErrorException An error occurred on the server side.
InvalidAutomationSignalException The signal isn't valid for the current Automation execution.
