get-user-id

Description

Retrieves the UserId in an identity store.

Note

If you have administrator access to a member account, you can use this API from the member account. Read about member accounts in the Organizations User Guide .

See also: AWS API Documentation

get-user-id uses document type values. Document types follow the JSON data model where valid values are: strings, numbers, booleans, null, arrays, and objects. For command input, options and nested parameters that are labeled with the type document must be provided as JSON. Shorthand syntax does not support document types.

Options

--identity-store-id (string)

The globally unique identifier for the identity store.

--alternate-identifier (tagged union structure)

A unique identifier for a user or group that is not the primary identifier. This value can be an identifier from an external identity provider (IdP) that is associated with the user, the group, or a unique attribute. For the unique attribute, the only valid paths are userName and emails.value .

Note

This is a Tagged Union structure. Only one of the following top level keys can be set: ExternalId, UniqueAttribute.

ExternalId -> (structure)

The identifier issued to this resource by an external identity provider.

Issuer -> (string)

The issuer for an external identifier.

Id -> (string)

The identifier issued to this resource by an external identity provider.

UniqueAttribute -> (structure)

An entity attribute that's unique to a specific entity.

AttributePath -> (string)

A string representation of the path to a given attribute or sub-attribute. Supports JMESPath.

AttributeValue -> (document)

The value of the attribute. This is a Document type. This type is not supported by Java V1, Go V1, and older versions of the CLI.

Shorthand Syntax:

ExternalId={Issuer=string,Id=string},UniqueAttribute={AttributePath=string}

JSON Syntax:

{
  "ExternalId": {
    "Issuer": "string",
    "Id": "string"
  },
  "UniqueAttribute": {
    "AttributePath": "string",
    "AttributeValue": {...}
  }
}

--cli-input-json (string) Performs service operation based on the JSON string provided. The JSON string follows the format provided by --generate-cli-skeleton. If other arguments are provided on the command line, the CLI values will override the JSON-provided values. It is not possible to pass arbitrary binary values using a JSON-provided value as the string will be taken literally.

--generate-cli-skeleton (string) Prints a JSON skeleton to standard output without sending an API request. If provided with no value or the value input, prints a sample input JSON that can be used as an argument for --cli-input-json. If provided with the value output, it validates the command inputs and returns a sample output JSON for that command.

Global Options

--debug (boolean)

Turn on debug logging.

--endpoint-url (string)

Override command's default URL with the given URL.

--no-paginate (boolean)

Disable automatic pagination.

The formatting style for command output.

  • json
  • text
  • table

--query (string)
