Release: Elastic Beanstalk Amazon Linux 2 platform updates on October 24, 2023

This release provides new versions for AWS Elastic Beanstalk platforms based on Amazon Linux 2. The release includes security updates and Graviton support for two regions. It also includes AMI, Docker, ECS based Docker, Go, Corretto, Tomcat, .NET Core, and Node.js updates.

Applied all security updates published in the Amazon Linux Security Center on or before October 18, 2023 to all Amazon Linux 2 platforms.

Updated the base AMI to version 2.0.20231012.

Graviton Support

Starting with this release, Elastic Beanstalk adds support for Graviton on all of the latest Amazon Linux 2 platforms in the following regions:

  • Africa (Cape Town) – af-south-1

  • Asia Pacific (Osaka) – ap-northeast-3

AWS Graviton is an arm64 processor that offers up to 40% better price-performance over comparable x86 based processors. To learn more about Graviton arm64 processor architecture, see The AWS Graviton Processor website and Getting started with AWS Graviton in the AWS GitHub repository.

  • Updated Amazon ECS Agent to version 1.77.0.

Docker platform branch

  • Updated Docker Compose to version 2.23.0.

  • Updated Docker Engine to version 20.10.25-1 on the Docker Amazon Linux 2 platform branch.

The Docker Engine update is a security release.

Go
