Release: Elastic Beanstalk Amazon Linux 2023 platform updates on December 19, 2023

This release provides new versions for AWS Elastic Beanstalk platforms based on Amazon Linux 2023. The release includes security updates. It also includes AMI, Docker, ECS based Docker, Corretto, Tomcat, .NET Core, PHP, Python, and Ruby updates.

.NET Core

Updated .NET Core to release 6.0.25.

This is a security release.

PHP

Starting with this release Elastic Beanstalk installs the php8.2-sodium package by default with the PHP 8.2 AL2023 platform branch.

Python

Updated Python 3.11 from version 3.11.2 to Python 3.11.6.

This 3.11 Python language update is a security release.

Updated Pipenv to release 2023.11.15 for both the Python 3.9 and Python 3.11 platform branches. For details, see the Pipenv Release and Version History.

Ruby

This release resolves an issue where the Puma application server is only installed by default if a Gemfile is present in the application. Starting with this release Elastic Beanstalk installs the Puma application server by default, even if no Gemfile is present.
