Release: Elastic Beanstalk Amazon Linux 2 platform updates on March 28, 2024

This release provides new versions for AWS Elastic Beanstalk platforms based on Amazon Linux 2. The release includes security updates. It also includes AMI, Docker, ECS based Docker, Go, Corretto, .NET Core, and Ruby AL2 platform updates, along with an updated Linux kernel to kernel 5.10.

Applied all security updates published in the Amazon Linux Security Center on or before March 13, 2024 to all Amazon Linux 2 platforms.

Component Update

Kernel Update

  • Starting with this release, Elastic Beanstalk Amazon Linux 2 platforms use kernel 5.10 by default.

  • Kernel 5.10 brings a number of features and performance improvements, including optimizations for AWS Graviton2 processors powering the latest generation Amazon EC2 instances.

  • Previous releases of Elastic Beanstalk Amazon Linux 2 platforms use kernel 4.14.

AMI

Updated the base AMI to version 2.0.20240318 (Kernel 5.10).

CloudWatch

Updated CloudWatch Agent to version 1.300033.0.
