Synopsis

Calls the AWS Config GetResourceConfigHistory API operation.

Description

Returns a list of ConfigurationItems for the specified resource. The list contains details about each state of the resource during the specified time interval. If you specified a retention period to retain your ConfigurationItems between a minimum of 30 days and a maximum of 7 years (2557 days), Config returns the ConfigurationItems for the specified retention period. The response is paginated. By default, Config returns a limit of 10 configuration items per page. You can customize this number with the limit parameter. The response includes a nextToken string. To get the next page of results, run the request again and specify the string for the nextToken parameter. Each call to the API is limited to span a duration of seven days. It is likely that the number of records returned is smaller than the specified limit. In such cases, you can make another call, using the nextToken.

This cmdlet automatically pages all available results to the pipeline - parameters related to iteration are only needed if you want to manually control the paginated output. To disable autopagination, use -NoAutoIteration.

The time stamp that indicates an earlier time. If not specified, the action returns paginated results that contain configuration items that start when the first configuration item was recorded.

-Limit <Int32>
The maximum number of configuration items returned on each page. The default is 10. You cannot specify a number greater than 100. If you specify 0, Config uses the default.
Note: In AWSPowerShell and AWSPowerShell.NetCore this parameter is used to limit the total number of items returned by the cmdlet.
In AWS.Tools this parameter is simply passed to the service to specify how many items should be returned by each service call.
Pipe the output of this cmdlet into Select-Object -First to terminate retrieving data pages early and control the number of items returned.

The nextToken string returned on a previous page that you use to get the next page of results in a paginated response.
Note: This parameter is only used if you are manually controlling output pagination of the service API call.
In order to manually control output pagination, use '-NextToken $null' for the first call and '-NextToken $AWSHistory.LastServiceResponse.NextToken' for subsequent calls.

By default the cmdlet will auto-iterate and retrieve all results to the pipeline by performing multiple service calls. If set, the cmdlet will retrieve only the next 'page' of results using the value of NextToken as the start point.

Use the -Select parameter to control the cmdlet output. The default value is 'ConfigurationItems'. Specifying -Select '*' will result in the cmdlet returning the whole service response (Amazon.ConfigService.Model.GetResourceConfigHistoryResponse). Specifying the name of a property of type Amazon.ConfigService.Model.GetResourceConfigHistoryResponse will result in that property being returned. Specifying -Select '^ParameterName' will result in the cmdlet returning the selected cmdlet parameter value.

This cmdlet returns a collection of Amazon.ConfigService.Model.ConfigurationItem objects. The service call response (type Amazon.ConfigService.Model.GetResourceConfigHistoryResponse) can also be referenced from properties attached to the cmdlet entry in the $AWSHistory stack.
