-ClientRequestToken <String>

Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
-ConnectionType <ConnectionType>
The connection type used for connecting to an Amazon EC2 environment. Valid values are CONNECT_SSH (default) and CONNECT_SSM (connected through Amazon EC2 Systems Manager). For more information, see Accessing no-ingress EC2 instances with Amazon EC2 Systems Manager in the Cloud9 User Guide.

Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
This parameter overrides confirmation prompts to force the cmdlet to continue its operation. This parameter should always be used with caution.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
-ImageId <String>
The identifier for the Amazon Machine Image (AMI) that's used to create the EC2 instance. To choose an AMI for the instance, you must specify a valid AMI alias or a valid Amazon EC2 Systems Manager (SSM) path. From December 04, 2023, you will be required to include the imageId parameter for the CreateEnvironmentEC2 action. This change will be reflected across all direct methods of communicating with the API, such as Amazon Web Services SDK, Amazon Web Services CLI and Amazon Web Services CloudFormation. This change will only affect direct API consumers, and not Cloud9 console users. We recommend using Amazon Linux 2023 as the AMI to create your environment as it is fully supported. Since Ubuntu 18.04 has ended standard support as of May 31, 2023, we recommend you choose Ubuntu 22.04.AMI aliases
  • Amazon Linux 2: amazonlinux-2-x86_64
  • Amazon Linux 2023 (recommended): amazonlinux-2023-x86_64
  • Ubuntu 18.04: ubuntu-18.04-x86_64
  • Ubuntu 22.04: ubuntu-22.04-x86_64
SSM paths
  • Amazon Linux 2: resolve:ssm:/aws/service/cloud9/amis/amazonlinux-2-x86_64
  • Amazon Linux 2023 (recommended): resolve:ssm:/aws/service/cloud9/amis/amazonlinux-2023-x86_64
  • Ubuntu 18.04: resolve:ssm:/aws/service/cloud9/amis/ubuntu-18.04-x86_64
  • Ubuntu 22.04: resolve:ssm:/aws/service/cloud9/amis/ubuntu-22.04-x86_64

The type of instance to connect to the environment (for example, t2.micro).
Required?True
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
-Name <String>
The name of the environment to create. This name is visible to other IAM users in the same Amazon Web Services account.
Required?True
Position?1
Accept pipeline input?True (ByValue, ByPropertyName)
-OwnerArn <String>
The Amazon Resource Name (ARN) of the environment owner. This ARN can be the ARN of any IAM principal. If this value is not specified, the ARN defaults to this environment's creator.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
-PassThru <SwitchParameter>
Changes the cmdlet behavior to return the value passed to the Name parameter. The -PassThru parameter is deprecated, use -Select '^Name' instead. This parameter will be removed in a future version.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
-Select <String>
Use the -Select parameter to control the cmdlet output. The default value is 'EnvironmentId'. Specifying -Select '*' will result in the cmdlet returning the whole service response (Amazon.Cloud9.Model.CreateEnvironmentEC2Response). Specifying the name of a property of type Amazon.Cloud9.Model.CreateEnvironmentEC2Response will result in that property being returned. Specifying -Select '^ParameterName' will result in the cmdlet returning the selected cmdlet parameter value.

Common Credential and Region Parameters

-AccessKey <String>
The AWS access key for the user account. This can be a temporary access key if the corresponding session token is supplied to the -SessionToken parameter.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
AliasesAK
-Credential <AWSCredentials>
An AWSCredentials object instance containing access and secret key information, and optionally a token for session-based credentials.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByValue, ByPropertyName)
-EndpointUrl <String>
The endpoint to make the call against.Note: This parameter is primarily for internal AWS use and is not required/should not be specified for normal usage. The cmdlets normally determine which endpoint to call based on the region specified to the -Region parameter or set as default in the shell (via Set-DefaultAWSRegion). Only specify this parameter if you must direct the call to a specific custom endpoint.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
-NetworkCredential <PSCredential>
Used with SAML-based authentication when ProfileName references a SAML role profile. Contains the network credentials to be supplied during authentication with the configured identity provider's endpoint. This parameter is not required if the user's default network identity can or should be used during authentication.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByValue, ByPropertyName)
-ProfileLocation <String>
Used to specify the name and location of the ini-format credential file (shared with the AWS CLI and other AWS SDKs)If this optional parameter is omitted this cmdlet will search the encrypted credential file used by the AWS SDK for .NET and AWS Toolkit for Visual Studio first. If the profile is not found then the cmdlet will search in the ini-format credential file at the default location: (user's home directory)\.aws\credentials.If this parameter is specified then this cmdlet will only search the ini-format credential file at the location given. As the current folder can vary in a shell or during script execution it is advised that you use specify a fully qualified path instead of a relative path.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
AliasesAWSProfilesLocation, ProfilesLocation
-ProfileName <String>
The user-defined name of an AWS credentials or SAML-based role profile containing credential information. Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
AliasesRegionToCall
-SecretKey <String>
The AWS secret key for the user account. This can be a temporary secret key if the corresponding session token is supplied to the -SessionToken parameter.

The session token if the access and secret keys are temporary session-based credentials.
Required?False

Outputs

This cmdlet returns a System.String object. The service call response (type Amazon.Cloud9.Model.CreateEnvironmentEC2Response) can be returned by specifying '-Select *'.
