Synopsis

Calls the Amazon Neptune CreateEventSubscription API operation.

Syntax

New-NPTEventSubscription
-SubscriptionName <String>
-Enabled <Boolean>
-EventCategory <String[]>
-SnsTopicArn <String>
-SourceId <String[]>
-SourceType <String>
-Tag <Tag[]>
-Select <String>
-PassThru <SwitchParameter>
-Force <SwitchParameter>
-ClientConfig <AmazonNeptuneConfig>

Description

Creates an event notification subscription. This action requires a topic ARN (Amazon Resource Name) created by either the Neptune console, the SNS console, or the SNS API. To obtain an ARN with SNS, you must create a topic in Amazon SNS and subscribe to the topic. The ARN is displayed in the SNS console. You can specify the type of source (SourceType) you want to be notified of, provide a list of Neptune sources (SourceIds) that triggers the events, and provide a list of event categories (EventCategories) for events you want to be notified of. For example, you can specify SourceType = db-instance, SourceIds = mydbinstance1, mydbinstance2 and EventCategories = Availability, Backup. If you specify both the SourceType and SourceIds, such as SourceType = db-instance and SourceIdentifier = myDBInstance1, you are notified of all the db-instance events for the specified source. If you specify a SourceType but do not specify a SourceIdentifier, you receive notice of the events for that source type for all your Neptune sources. If you do not specify either the SourceType nor the SourceIdentifier, you are notified of events generated from all Neptune sources belonging to your customer account.

Parameters

-ClientConfig <AmazonNeptuneConfig>
Amazon.PowerShell.Cmdlets.NPT.AmazonNeptuneClientCmdlet.ClientConfig
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
-Enabled <Boolean>
A Boolean value; set to true to activate the subscription, set to false to create the subscription but not active it.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
-EventCategory <String[]>
A list of event categories for a SourceType that you want to subscribe to. You can see a list of the categories for a given SourceType by using the DescribeEventCategories action.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
AliasesEventCategories
This parameter overrides confirmation prompts to force the cmdlet to continue its operation. This parameter should always be used with caution.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
-PassThru <SwitchParameter>
Changes the cmdlet behavior to return the value passed to the SubscriptionName parameter. The -PassThru parameter is deprecated, use -Select '^SubscriptionName' instead. This parameter will be removed in a future version.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
-Select <String>
Use the -Select parameter to control the cmdlet output. The default value is 'EventSubscription'. Specifying -Select '*' will result in the cmdlet returning the whole service response (Amazon.Neptune.Model.CreateEventSubscriptionResponse). Specifying the name of a property of type Amazon.Neptune.Model.CreateEventSubscriptionResponse will result in that property being returned. Specifying -Select '^ParameterName' will result in the cmdlet returning the selected cmdlet parameter value.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
-SnsTopicArn <String>
The Amazon Resource Name (ARN) of the SNS topic created for event notification. The ARN is created by Amazon SNS when you create a topic and subscribe to it.
Required?True
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
-SourceId <String[]>
The list of identifiers of the event sources for which events are returned. If not specified, then all sources are included in the response. An identifier must begin with a letter and must contain only ASCII letters, digits, and hyphens; it can't end with a hyphen or contain two consecutive hyphens.Constraints:
  • If SourceIds are supplied, SourceType must also be provided.
  • If the source type is a DB instance, then a DBInstanceIdentifier must be supplied.
  • If the source type is a DB security group, a DBSecurityGroupName must be supplied.
  • If the source type is a DB parameter group, a DBParameterGroupName must be supplied.
  • If the source type is a DB snapshot, a DBSnapshotIdentifier must be supplied.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
AliasesSourceIds
-SourceType <String>
The type of source that is generating the events. For example, if you want to be notified of events generated by a DB instance, you would set this parameter to db-instance. if this value is not specified, all events are returned.Valid values: db-instance | db-cluster | db-parameter-group | db-security-group | db-snapshot | db-cluster-snapshot
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
-SubscriptionName <String>
The name of the subscription.Constraints: The name must be less than 255 characters.
Required?True
Position?1
Accept pipeline input?True (ByValue, ByPropertyName)
-Tag <Tag[]>
The tags to be applied to the new event subscription.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)

Common Credential and Region Parameters

-AccessKey <String>
The AWS access key for the user account. This can be a temporary access key if the corresponding session token is supplied to the -SessionToken parameter.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
AliasesAK
-Credential <AWSCredentials>
An AWSCredentials object instance containing access and secret key information, and optionally a token for session-based credentials.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByValue, ByPropertyName)
-EndpointUrl <String>
The endpoint to make the call against.Note: This parameter is primarily for internal AWS use and is not required/should not be specified for normal usage. The cmdlets normally determine which endpoint to call based on the region specified to the -Region parameter or set as default in the shell (via Set-DefaultAWSRegion). Only specify this parameter if you must direct the call to a specific custom endpoint.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByPropertyName)
-NetworkCredential <PSCredential>
Used with SAML-based authentication when ProfileName references a SAML role profile. Contains the network credentials to be supplied during authentication with the configured identity provider's endpoint. This parameter is not required if the user's default network identity can or should be used during authentication.
Required?False
Position?Named
Accept pipeline input?True (ByValue, ByPropertyName)
-ProfileLocation <String>
Used to specify the name and location of the ini-format credential file (shared with the AWS CLI and other AWS SDKs)If this optional parameter is omitted this cmdlet will search the encrypted credential file used by the AWS SDK for .NET and AWS Toolkit for Visual Studio first. If the profile is not found then the cmdlet will search in the ini-format credential file at the default location: (user's home directory)\.aws\credentials.If this parameter is specified then this cmdlet will only search the ini-format credential file at the location given. As the current folder can vary in a shell or during script execution it is advised that you use specify a fully qualified path instead of a relative path.
