The resource can be deleted (
RemovalPolicy.DESTROY
), or left in your AWS account for data recovery and cleanup later (RemovalPolicy.RETAIN
). In some cases, a snapshot can be taken of the resource prior to deletion (RemovalPolicy.SNAPSHOT
