AWS Elemental MediaConvert endpoints and quotas - AWS General Reference

AWS Elemental MediaConvert endpoints and quotas

The following are the service endpoints and service quotas for this service. To connect programmatically to an AWS service, you use an endpoint. For more information, see AWS service endpoints. Service quotas, also referred to as limits, are the maximum number of service resources or operations for your AWS account. For more information, see AWS service quotas.

Service Endpoints

Use these endpoints only to request an account-specific endpoint, using the DescribeEndpoints operation. Send all your transcoding requests to the account-specific endpoint that the service returns. For more information, see Getting Started with the API in the MediaConvert API Reference.

Service Quotas

Resource Default

Backlog of jobs waiting to be processed, per queue

100,000

Concurrent jobs across all on-demand queues, baseline

The initial number of jobs that your account can run concurrently, spread across all of your on-demand queues in all Regions.

Varies by Region.

40 in these Regions:

  • US East (N. Virginia)

  • US West (N. California)

  • Europe (Ireland)

20 in all other Regions

Concurrent jobs processed per on-demand queue, peak

When you have a sustained load of queued on-demand jobs, MediaConvert dynamically scales the number of jobs that you can run at once to match your workload. The scaling stops at this peak quota.

Varies by Region.

200 in these Regions:

  • US East (N. Virginia)

  • US West (N. California)

  • Europe (Ireland)

100 in all other Regions

Concurrent jobs processed per reserved queue

Equal to the number of reserved transcoding slots (RTS) purchased in the contract.

Custom job templates, per account

100

Custom output presets, per account

100

Queues (on-demand) per Region, per account

10

Queues (reserved) per Region, per account

30

Request rate for DescribeEndpoints

0.01667 TPS (Once per 60 seconds)

This endpoint is specific to your AWS account and won't change. Request this endpoint once, and then hardcode or cache it.

Request rate for DescribeEndpoints, in a burst

0

Request rate for CreateJob

5 TPS (5 transactions per second)

Request rate for requests other than CreateJob and DescribeEndpoints

2 TPS (2 transactions per second)

Request rate for requests other than DescribeEndpoints, in a burst

100 TPS (100 transactions per second)
