Synopsis

Calls the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) PurchaseScheduledInstances API operation.

Description

You can no longer purchase Scheduled Instances. Purchases the Scheduled Instances with the specified schedule. Scheduled Instances enable you to purchase Amazon EC2 compute capacity by the hour for a one-year term. Before you can purchase a Scheduled Instance, you must call DescribeScheduledInstanceAvailability to check for available schedules and obtain a purchase token. After you purchase a Scheduled Instance, you must call RunScheduledInstances during each scheduled time period. After you purchase a Scheduled Instance, you can't cancel, modify, or resell your purchase.

Changes the cmdlet behavior to return the value passed to the PurchaseRequest parameter. The -PassThru parameter is deprecated, use -Select '^PurchaseRequest' instead. This parameter will be removed in a future version.

Use the -Select parameter to control the cmdlet output. The default value is 'ScheduledInstanceSet'. Specifying -Select '*' will result in the cmdlet returning the whole service response (Amazon.EC2.Model.PurchaseScheduledInstancesResponse). Specifying the name of a property of type Amazon.EC2.Model.PurchaseScheduledInstancesResponse will result in that property being returned. Specifying -Select '^ParameterName' will result in the cmdlet returning the selected cmdlet parameter value.

This cmdlet returns a collection of Amazon.EC2.Model.ScheduledInstance objects. The service call response (type Amazon.EC2.Model.PurchaseScheduledInstancesResponse) can also be referenced from properties attached to the cmdlet entry in the $AWSHistory stack.
