Synopsis

Calls the AWS Systems Manager DeleteDocument API operation.

Description

Deletes the Amazon Web Services Systems Manager document (SSM document) and all managed node associations to the document. Before you delete the document, we recommend that you use DeleteAssociation to disassociate all managed nodes that are associated with the document.

Some SSM document types require that you specify a Force flag before you can delete the document. For example, you must specify a Force flag to delete a document of type ApplicationConfigurationSchema. You can restrict access to the Force flag in an Identity and Access Management (IAM) policy.

Changes the cmdlet behavior to return the value passed to the Name parameter. The -PassThru parameter is deprecated, use -Select '^Name' instead. This parameter will be removed in a future version.

Use the -Select parameter to control the cmdlet output. The cmdlet doesn't have a return value by default. Specifying -Select '*' will result in the cmdlet returning the whole service response (Amazon.SimpleSystemsManagement.Model.DeleteDocumentResponse). Specifying -Select '^ParameterName' will result in the cmdlet returning the selected cmdlet parameter value.
